Hands On The Bat- Grip

The Bat should be placed in a players fingers.  This placement will help with bat speed, contact and extension.  AVOID having the bat in your palms!!

Start with your knuckle lined up on the bat.  An easy way to check your alignment is to extend both index fingers.  They should both be pointing in the same direction if your knuckles are lined up.

Good Grip leads to solid contact

When our knuckles are lined up, players will be able to keep their bat in the hitting zone for a longer period of time.  This helps a hitting make more consistent contact and leads to the Point of Contact in a Palm to Palm position.

At the point of contact, the back arm (lower hand) will have the palm facing UP.  The front arm (top hand) will have the palm facing down.  This will help eliminate the dreaded roll over leading to a weak ground ball.
