Barrington Youth Baseball and Softball

 Join Barrington Youth Baseball & Softball on Saturday, February 25th for a Winter Warm Up day of fun and evaluations.  Players will move through a variety of stations and parents will have an opportunity to attend various seminars directed by our new partners from the White Sox Training Academy.

All registered house players between the ages of 7 and 12 should plan to attend the event in the Barrington High School main gym.  A schedule for each age group is listed below.  Players are evaluated while hitting, throwing and catching to assist commissioners and managers to create balanced teams for a more enjoyable experience for all participants.Evaluation Day marks the beginning of the 2012 season for many of our players.

All players are encouraged to register for the season prior to Evaluation Day and then attend the appropriate session as described below on February 25th at  Barrington High School.

BYB&S offers programs for all players from ages 5 to 17.  The league structure is grade based. The younger players (boys Kindergarten through 2^nd grade and girls Kindergarten through 4^th grade) are placed with classmates on teams built around their school.  Older players participate in divisions where players are drafted on to teams by coaches. Practices begin the first week of April and the season ends in late June.  Most teams play between 18 to 20 games and the older divisions have a year-end playoff.

BYB&S now offers baseball winter training as part of its Training Academy sessions that are directed by White Sox instructors. The classes are a great fit for the BYB&S mission of providing a fun experience while developing players.

The classes are led by White Sox Academy instructors and will detail the absolutes of Hitting and Pitching as taught to the White Sox Players by the Southsiders coaching staff.

Go beyond what you’re used to, and get ready to be challenged! If you are truly serious about becoming the best player you can be…this is the place for you. 

Our Pitching Clubs will cover grips, arm action, balance points, and pitching from the wind up and stretch.

Our Hitting Clubs will focus on plate coverage and stance, striding into a hitting position, swing plane/hand path, footwork and balance.

Barrington Youth Baseball and Softball (BYB&S) is committed to teach the game in a fun, competitive and instructional atmosphere. Players ages 5 to 18 have the opportunity to participate in baseball and softball in a variety of levels including the most competitive year round travel program (Barrington Travel tab on the website) for highly skilled players to recreational programming for players of all abilities (BYB&S House Baseball & Softball). The House season runs from April 1st through late June. BYB&S also offers a Fall Season for House players.

Our organization has been in existence for over 60 years and has grown to provide programming for approximately 1,500 players each year, all of whom reside within the boundaries of community school district 220.

Over 120 teams participate in BYB&S each year. Our organization has adapted to our community's needs as we create programming to satisfy the demands of players of all skill levels.
