Your Community Baseball & Softball Program
Barrington Youth Baseball & Softball offers competitive travel opportunities for baseball and softball players.
This portion of our program is called Barrington Travel and we are the feeder program for Barrington High School.
BHS Coaches participate in a portion of our travel team training.
Baseball full time travel is available for players u9 through u14. Softball full time travel is available for u10 through u14 players.
PLAYERS MUST REGISTER THROUGH OUR WEBSITE TO PARTICIPATE IN TRYOUTS- Use the registration link below. Players must register by Friday, July 5th.
Barrington Travel is only for residents of CUSD 220.
Team formation is dependent on qualified interest.
Teams are formed by the end of July and most age groups have two teams. Team formation is subject to change based on the number of qualified participants.
Players must register to tryout at www.bybs.net on the Barrington Travel page. Independent evaluators do all of the tryout scoring.
Some teams start training in the Fall, most begin winter workouts in December or January.
BYB&S Travel teams have a comprehensive winter indoor training program with professional instructors.
Barrington Travel teams also work closely with the Barrington High School program with player and coach training for baseball and softball.
All players will be notified of their status whether they make a team or not. All 2020 Barrington Travel Rosters will be finalized by July 24th with invited players receiving directions in July for how to secure your roster spot by registering for the 2020 experience. Those directions will arrive along with the initial invitation. A deadline will be provided for when invited families must complete the registration process. Those who miss the deadline will be removed from the roster so please pay close attention to the directions for accepting a roster spot when it arrives.
Team budgets vary based on the age group. Most teams have a budget from $1,200 to $1,700. Teams that make an out of state trip require an additional expense (Cooperstown, Omaha, etc).
Barrington Youth Baseball & Softball has been serving our community for more than 70 years. Over time the program has grown with nearly 100 teams participating each year. While BYB&S continues to adapt to the changing needs of our participants the program remains focused on its original objective:
BYB&S is committed to teach the game in a fun, competitive and instructional atmosphere. We are focused on improving the ability of every player while enhancing the experience for every family. Our efforts create a passion for the game that will last a lifetime.
